air network puzzle

Aeroport

Draw air corridors across a world map on a tight budget, send every plane to the hub that matches it, and keep the crowds from closing a ring.

About

The map is the whole screen, drawn like a transit diagram, and it starts with a few airports in the Balkans. Drag from one to another and a corridor opens, paid for out of a small budget of lengths; take it down again and you only get three quarters back. Small airports own planes, and each plane will only serve the hub of its own colour and shape, so passengers pile up as dots above the hubs while more airports keep opening and asking to be connected. Too many dots and a ring starts to close around the hub, and when it closes the run is over. Corridors turn yellow when they fill. Every week you choose one of two upgrades, from a second runway to larger aircraft. From the Alps on, storms shut a corridor for twelve seconds, so a network with one way round is a network waiting to fail. Bronze opens the next region, on the way out to the whole world.

How it plays
  1. 01

Drag between two airports to open a corridor. It uses lengths from your budget, and removing one refunds three quarters.

  2. 02

Connect each small airport to the hub with its colour and shape. A dotted line shows where a new airport wants to go.

  3. 03

Dots above a hub are waiting passengers. Too many and a ring closes around it, and that ends the run, so spread busy traffic out before it does.

  4. 04

Reach bronze to open the next region, then keep going for silver and gold. From the Alps on, build a second way round for when a storm closes a corridor.
